With significant changes like a new front grille, front and rear bumpers and a new set of alloys, the car boasts its sportiness. Rain-sensing wipers are included in the Highline and GT variant(s) of the Volkswagen Polo. Mechanically, the Volkswagen Polo is offered with a 1.0-litre engine that produces 109bhp and 175Nm of torque and is governed by a six-speed manual and six-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The German hatchback is priced at Rs 7.36 lakh and goes up to Rs 11.75 lakh
The Nexon is a compact SUV from the Indian automaker, Tata. In its mid-life update, the headlamps had gotten sharper and the car has recently been equipped with a refreshed set of alloys. Talking about the kit, the 7.0-inch floating infotainment screen gets mobile connectivity features like Android Auto & Apple Carplay. With five-star Global NCAP ratings, safety is definitely a factor you can bank on, however, the rain-sensing wipers have been provided with the XZ+ (S) trim and above.
The Tata Nexon features a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with the petrol engine producing 118bhp with 170Nm of torque and the diesel unit producing 108bhp & 260Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual gearbox and an AMT for both engines. The Nexon is priced at Rs 7.20 lakh and goes up to 13.25 lakh
Ford Figo, with its top-end variant, offers rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, automatic AC, leather-wrapped steering wheel, bigger 15-inch alloy wheels, six airbags with an array of safety and connectivity features. Mechanically, the Figo offers a choice between 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine option. The 1.2-litre engine produces 95bhp and 119Nm of torque. As for the diesel version, it gets a 1.5-litre engine which produces 99bhp and 215Nm of torque. Both the engine options get a five-speed manual transmission as standard. The Ford Figo has a price bracket of Rs 6.88 lakh to 10 lakh.
The first SUV from the Korean carmaker to the Indian market, the Kia Seltos has been performing phenomenally well for Kia. Kia Seltos offers features like automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a 360 camera with assist and sensors, and an array of connectivity features. Rain-sensing wipers are made available with trims GTX+ 1.4 and above.
The SUV features a 1.5-litre petrol engine, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre petrol motor is available with a six-speed manual transmission, a CVT unit, and an iMT gearbox. The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol motor is offered only with a seven-speed DCT unit with steering-mounted paddle shifters. The 1.5-litre diesel motor can be had with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission. Kia Seltos has a starting price of Rs 11.51 lakh and goes up to Rs 21.26 lakh.
This compact SUV from Mahindra comes equipped with a sunroof, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and BlueSense technology, cruise control, steering-mounted controls, however, the rain-sensing wipers are been featured only with the W8 trim and its versions.
Under the hood, the Mahindra XUV300 offers a choice of two powertrains that include a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The former produces 109bhp and 200Nm of torque while the latter produces 115bhp and 300Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual unit and an AMT unit. The entry-level variant of the XUV300 is priced at Rs 9.32 lakh and goes up to Rs 16.11 lakh.
The Skoda Rapid offers an array of safety features, rear parking camera with assist and sensors, cruise control, etc. The rain sensing wipers are however equipped only in the Style trim and above. The Rapid features a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine developing 109bhp and 175Nm of torque. Transmission options could include a six-speed manual transmission along with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Rapid is priced at Rs 9.07 lakh and goes up to 15.61 lakh.
The newly-launched Skoda Kushaq from the Czech carmaker offers features like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, and MirrorLink, a two-spoke steering wheel, wireless charging, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, cruise control, etc. It is one of the cars that come with rain sensing wipers. Kushaq offers them with the Style variant only.
The Skoda Kushaq is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 113bhp and 178Nm of torque, as well as a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine producing 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. A six-speed manual unit is standard while the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre versions get a six-speed automatic unit and a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox as an option, respectively. The Kushaq is priced at Rs 12.33 lakh for its base trim and hikes up to Rs 20.66 lakh for the top-end variant. The Style variants, which include rain-sensors start from 17.09 lakh.
